Auditing Project Management and Project Risk
The risk attached to projects is often high and projects frequently have the potential to significantly affect an organisation’s activities. Internal auditors need to make a contribution by providing assurance and helping improve the management of projects and the way that project risks are handled. This helps internal audit improve its status and be seen as core to ensuring the viability of the organisation’s strategies, economic viability and reputation.
This course covers the essence of auditing project management and project risk, no matter what project management methodology is used in your organisation. It is as relevant to Prince 2 users as it is to PIMBOK users or those not using any formal project management methodology.

He works as a consultant for a variety of corporate and public sector organisations, and also works as Internal Audit subject matter expert for the Institute of Internal Auditors–Australia (IIA) where he recommenced in 2013 in a job he previously held 2005–2008 to develop improved internal audit in Australia and its region. He was previously a member of an international IIA committee to improve quality in internal auditing.
He developed the internal audit Quality Assessment process in Australia and has performed 150 Quality Assessments of Internal Audit functions in corporate and public sector organisations in Australia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.
He is an independent member of Audit Committees at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies. He is chair of the Audit Committee at Queanbeyan–Palerang Regional Council in New South Wales, and a member of the assessment committee to evaluate applications for the NSW Government Audit
