Health, Safety and Environmental Assurance - Online Classroom

Risk management and basic audit processes for technical operations share much in common with those for financial, IT and even fraud risk, but HSE technical auditing requires additional skills and special experience for successful delivery of audits.

HSE audit teams need to possess the knowledge and experience for auditing in a technical operational environment. This session will provide you with insights and methodologies on how to audit the management systems specific to HSE with an understanding of all the processes required for ensuring delivery of good HSE performance including the major influences of culture and human behaviour.

• Understand important concepts central to the good management of HSE.
• Understand the landscape of and process steps for an HSE audit.
• Develop an awareness of the differences between traditional internal auditing and the undertaking of an HSE audit.

Ian had a 36-year stint with diverse roles covering design, technical support and operations management as well as serving as Head of Internal Audit for the whole of the Middle and Far East and a final role as Global VP Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Social Performance Assurance with Shell.

After retirement, Ian developed his own independent Health and Safety Management and Assurance consultancy business serving clients as diverse as major Oil and Gas companies, NGOs delivering solar power solutions in India and Africa and Government Transport Corporations in UK and in Australia.

Online Classroom: The content delivered for IIA-Australia training programs in the online classroom format is the same as what would be delivered face-to-face.

This one-day training program will be delivered in two 3 hour lessons (11:30pm - 2:30pm) on consecutive days using Zoom. Registrations will be strictly limited to 12 participants to allow maximum interaction in the online environment.
