IIA NZ Topic: NZX Regulation - Transactions, Conduct and Culture on the NZX Markets

Presenters: Chris Juchnowicz & Jonathan Maharaj

NZX Regulation works at the heart of New Zealand's capital markets. In this presentation, join Chris Juchnowicz (Manager, Issuer Transactions) and Jonathan Maharaj (Manager, Market Conduct) as they discuss transactions, conduct and culture on the NZX markets. The presentation will include an overview of how NZX is regulated, internal audit at NZX listed issuers, the transactions process, conduct and culture on the NZX markets, as well as case studies and enforcement work.

Chris is a solicitor who manages Issuer Transactions in NZX Regulation. Chris has previously worked in the Listing Transactions department at the UK FCA and in the Capital Markets Conduct team at the Financial Markets Authority. His role includes managing IPO applications, the review of offer documents and notices of meetings, and assisting issuers with Listing Rule related matters.

Jonathan is a qualified statutory auditor, certified fraud examiner, and risk and compliance professional. He has 14 years of financial experience across a range of industries, including New Zealand's capital markets, accounting and financial services. He began his career at PwC and has been at NZX for the past 7 years. His role as NZX's Manager of Market Conduct includes managing investigations; enforcement action; and influencing best practice market conduct and culture.

ISACA Topic: Shadow IT, and its implications to information security at NZ Police

Presenter: Dr. Clifford Clark

Dr. Clifford Clark began his Police career in 1990 in Suffolk, England. He moved to New Zealand in 2008 with his family, when he joined the Wellington CIB, investigating Serious and Major crimes. He has held many roles in the UK and NZ Police including Police artist, law instructor and Detective Senior Sergeant, and officer in charge of the National Cyber Crime Centre. Clifford achieved a life ambition when he was awarded a Doctorate in 2010, and another in 2016 when he was promoted to Inspector, into the position of IT Security Manager for Police.
