Audit Manager, Data Analytics

The role

In this role you'll interact directly with technology and business units in WNZL and other Group Audit teams in Sydney. You'll participate in independent reviews by designing and executing data analytic tests to validate controls, IT systems, processes and interfaces across WNZL and identify areas for remediation and opportunities for enhancement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and assist in planning data analytics to support the audit process, including the identification or required data to support the testing of processes, risks and controls
  • Execute data analytics and audit fieldwork including testing the design and operating effectiveness of controls using data analytics and data visualisation
  • Assist in the reporting stages of the audit engagement, including preparing and discussing audit reports with management. These audit reports form the basis of the messages reported to the WNZL Board Audit Committee on a quarterly basis
  • Participate in WNZL Audit team and Group Audit initiatives and continuous improvement initiatives.
Our ideal candidate

The WNZL internal audit team has built a respected and valued internal brand. Primarily you will have recent experience in leading or working with the audit team to execute Data Analytics to support Internal Audit assignments. This role is not purely data analytics but also offers the opportunity to be involved in internal audits covering Technology and Internal Projects to really extend yourself.

Knowledge and experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Engineering, Maths or an equivalent field
  • At least 3 years of experience in Data Analytics using analytical tools such as SQL
  • Strong communication, problem-solving & relationship skills
  • Internal and/or external audit experience preferably covering Technology is desirable
  • Experience in financial services or banking is desirable
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI is desirable.
