Join the internal audit team as an Internal Auditor providing contemporary support and advice to improve business performance and the management of risk.

What you will do
You will assist in the planning, conduct and delivery of individual internal audit engagements and other assurance services under the risk based internal audit work plan; and support the Principal Internal Auditor and Senior Internal Auditors in the delivery of the internal audit work plan and other team accountabilities.

You will support the development and delivery of best practice internal audit methodology, tools and techniques, and assist in the coaching and development of the Internal Audit graduates.

What we need
Our ideal person will have strong people and relationship skills, an inquisitive mind, likes to help others and wants to make a difference within an organisation. You'll be a logical thinker with great verbal and written communication skills.

You will have the knowledge, skills and experience in supporting internal audit engagements in large and complex internal audit functions. You'll understand the Institute of Internal Auditors International Professional Practices Framework and risk-based audit methodology. You'll have an interest, awareness and understanding of global and contemporary models of internal audit. You will also have knowledge and understanding of professional ethical principles.

Who we are
The NZDF Internal Audit function provides the Chief of Defence Force, and the Risk and Assurance Committee, with an objective assessment of the adequacy and effectiveness of processes and procedures employed by management to both identify and manage risk. The function operates as the Third Line of Assurance within the NZDF Risk Management Framework and, in accordance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, provides independent and objective assurance to the Chief of Defence Force and executive management.

The vision of the function is to provide meaningful and insightful assurance services for the NZDF, looking beyond compliance, and being a valued partner for continuous improvement and the management of risk. This vision emphasises assisting the organisation to improve its overall business performance.
