healthAlliance is one of New Zealand's most significant shared services for the health sector. We support the delivery of healthcare to the Northern Region District Health Boards (DHB's) who collectively form one of New Zealand's largest IT environments.

Our Regional Internal Audit function is a highly respected professional services team delivering assurance and advisory services to six health organisations that represent $5.8 Billion in funding and 27,600 employees. RIA is the current recipient of the Institute of Internal Auditors Team Excellence Award and its General Manager was voted as Internal Auditor of the year.

The Role

We are seeking an Internal Auditor to join our Regional Internal Audit team. Based in Whangarei you will be the sole Auditor providing a variety of advisory activities to assist managers optimise their processes and maintain good working relationships with external auditors and government agencies.

Your primary responsibility will be to perform internal audits, plan the audit procedures, carryout audit fieldwork, prepare audit work papers, discuss audit findings and draft audit reports.

Who are you?

You will be an experienced Internal Auditor with at least 3 years of experience and have a relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting or an IT-related field. A professional qualification would be an advantage (e.g. CA/CPA, CIA, CISA).

You will have strong analytical skills and a creative and practical approach to problem solving. You have a pragmatic approach to delivering recommendations to the business, along with an ability to articulate the benefits in an outcome-focused way. You are able to interact with all levels of management and have excellent communication skills and an ability to form functional and friendly relationships. Specific audit experience in shared services, or Oracle ERP or basic knowledge of Audit Command Language (ACL) would be an advantage.
