Principal Advisor - Assurance

About the role

Our Risk and Compliance team are looking for an experienced Principal Advisor to join their team. As Principal Advisor, Assurance you will be responsible for the application of WorkSafe's Assurance Framework, managing independent and objective assurance reviews, specifically in relation to WorkSafe's Digital Transformation programme.

As Principal Advisor, Assurance you will:

  • Develop the enhanced Digital Transformation Assurance roadmap
  • Plan and coordinate reviews
  • Monitor and report on management action progress internally and to WorkSafe's relevant governance committees
  • Develop and report on the assurance roadmap and budget to management and relevant committees as required, in conjunction with findings and management actions
  • Working with project teams and the business, provide independent challenge and assurance in a third line capacity including detailing recommendations to uplift risk maturity and activities across first and second line
  • Manage the assurance budget for the Digital Transformation program
  • Act as an intermediary between WorkSafe's Board and committees, responding to requests for clarification and confidence across the Digital Transformation programme

Ideally you will have:

  • Minimum of 7 years Risk and Assurance background
  • Audit experience
  • Operational and technology risk experience
  • Programme, project, change management and agile experience
  • Professional services and/or regulator experience
  • Robust and pragmatic understanding of risk and assurance, ideally with regulator experience
  • Strong planning and organisational skills - ability to multi-task and prioritise autonomously, meeting critical milestones
  • Professional scepticism - a questioning mind, alert to anything that may indicate gaps, misstatement or fraud and the ability to critically assess audit evidence
  • Demonstrated high level of integrity and trustworthiness
  • Proven experience managing budgets
  • Digital literacy - efficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications
