Senior Assurance and Risk Specialist

Are you are a qualified Chartered Accountant, strategic thinker with a broad insight into internal audit and risk practices and principles?

Western Bay of Plenty District Council are seeking an experienced Specialist to support Council's Audit and Risk Committee by working across the organisation to provide internal audit and risk assurance services.

The role requires a working knowledge and understanding of internal audit procedures, experience in internal audit planning, completion and reporting. You will also be familiar with risk management principles and be capable of compiling detailed reports and confident in presenting reports to the Audit and Risk Committee.

The Specialist will have key responsibilities for the development, execution and monitoring of an annual internal audit programme, and the organisation's risk framework, initiatives, strategies, policies and procedures. There is also a requirement to add value to the business when carrying out these duties by identifying and promoting opportunities for process improvement.

Applicants should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit.
