IIA NZ Fundamentals of Internal Audit Training Course - Wellington

Course Overview:

Internal auditing operates in diverse legal and cultural environments, encompassing organisations of varying purposes, sizes, complexities, and structures. Whether performed by individuals within or outside the organisation, the practice of internal auditing must conform to The IIA's International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards) to ensure professional excellence and accountability.

The International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), which includes the newly updated Global Internal Audit Standards, serves as the authoritative conceptual framework for internal auditors worldwide. This training course will guide participants through the essential components of the IPPF, emphasising mandatory guidance required for effective internal auditing practices.

The course will provide an overview of the internal audit lifecycle, explore the internal control environment, and delve into audit governance. Through interactive activities, real-life scenarios, and best practices, participants will gain actionable insights and key takeaways to enhance their organisation's internal audit function.

Who Should Attend:

This course is designed for internal auditors with 1-3 years of experience who are eager to strengthen their foundational knowledge, master key concepts, and develop tools and techniques to enhance their effectiveness in the field.

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Understand the principles and core elements of the IPPF and the new Global IA Standards.
  • Gain insights into the internal audit lifecycle, internal control environment, and audit governance.
